This webinar will look at the fundamentals of SONET/SDH technology. What is SONET/SDH? How is it different than previous technologies? Why was it developed?

• examine the essentials such as the frame structure and pointers and their uses
• discuss the benefits of SONET/SDH technology
• review the network elements and topology where SONET/SDH is utilized

About the Presenter

Marc Ghobriel, Product Line Manager, PMC-Sierra
Marc Ghobriel is a product line manager at PMC-Sierra’s Service Provider Division and is responsible for the SONET/SDH transport framers. Prior to joining the marketing group, he was a member of the company's transport framer development design team.

  • RealPlayer (version 6 or later, except for version 6.0.9.380) or Windows Media Player (6.4 or later)
• At least a 28.8Kbps connection to the Internet
