What to Expect

Maintaining flexibility will be key as Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP) designs mature and replace traditional ADM metro area equipment. This webinar will consider TDM-based MSPPs using examples from PMC-Sierra's CHESS™ product family. Additionally, an analysis of the implementation challenges and benefits of these architectures will be presented. The webinar culminates in a discussion of the integration of advanced packet functionality into existing TDM architectures.

About the Presenters


Mark Beaty, Applications Engineer, Communication Product Division, PMC-Sierra

Mark Beaty is an MSPP/Metro Applications Engineer in the Communication Products Division. Mr. Beaty joined PMC-Sierra in 2000 and has extensive experience supporting the CHESS I and CHESS II metro product lines. Mr. Beaty has also supported a clock management product portfolio in addition to developing reference designs for metro and DSLAM applications. He is responsible for supporting the CHESS III and CHESS Wideband product families.

Mr. Beaty graduated, with Distinction, from the University of Victoria, Canada and holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.


Warren Lien, Senior Applications Engineer, Communication Product Division, PMC-Sierra

Warren Lien is a Senior MSPP/Metro Applications Engineer in the Communication Products Division. Mr. Lien joined PMC-Sierra in 2000 as a Product Design Engineer and participated in the development of the TSE™ 160, TSE Nx160, TSE 240 and TUPP™ 2488 devices prior to joining the Applications Group. Mr. Lien provides support for the CHESS III and CHESS Wideband product families.

Mr. Lien graduated from the University of Calgary, Canada and holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Engineering.
