PDFPAS65311 GPON ONT Reference Design Product Brief [146 KB] PMC-2070462 2007-03-27

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

PAS65311 is a reference design for a GPON ONT, based on PMC-Sierra's PAS6201-G0 GPON SoC and PAS6211 GPON Framer/Serdes. The solution is based on PMC-Sierra's GigaPASS architecture and PAS6201 ONU SoC, which is the first PON SoC to be deployed in millions. The GigaPASS architecture integrates multiple hardware-based packetprocessing engine subsystems to deliver wire speed packet processing at all packet sizes, and combines them with a control processor supporting Linux and VxWorks operating systems and extensible middleware platforms. This solution performs QoS queuing, packet classification, VLAN bridging and manipulation and IPTV filtering at full-duplex line rate, in order to provide predictable, sustainable and guaranteed performance, to assure delivery of tripleplay and QoS-sensitive applications under all traffic and service network conditions.
PAS65311 is designed to support a variety of ONT types, including Single Family Unit (SFU), Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) and Multi-Tenant Unit (MTU) types.
It is supplied with complete software, including a full OMCI stack, TR069 stack, VoIP software, and optional Ethernet OAM.
