Signal
Integrity Analysis:
Building Successful High-Speed
6G Board Designs
Wednesday, March 31, 2004 - 11:00AM PT/2:00PM ET |
|
PRESENTED
BY
Graeme Boyd, Principal Engineer, Mixed Signal Development,
PMC-Sierra
WHAT
TO EXPECT
Today several standard bodies are developing next-generation
high-speed links with the desire to achieve lower bit
error rates (BER). These factors are driving optimization
of all components (not just the ICs) in the system.
At the root of this optimization is "signal integrity"
which allows for "what ifs" and/or drives
trade-offs.
This
webinar will:
|
|
Provide
an update on the current 6G standard bodies activities
|
|
|
Discuss
the major factors contributing to signal integrity
|
|
|
Provide
examples on how to optimize such tasks as Vias in
the PCB design to avoid costly debug and re-spins
when system BER objectives are not met |
|
|
Discuss
system considerations for NRZ and 4PAM signaling
selection
|
Join
in a live Q&A after.
WHO
SHOULD ATTEND
Signal Integrity Engineers, Backplane Designers, Board
Designers, Design Engineers, System Architects, Product
Line Managers, Engineering Management and Marketing
Managers of Aerospace, Digital Broadcast Video, Enterprise
Ethernet, Industrial, Medical Diagnostic Imaging, Military,
Performance Computing, Telecom, and Wireless markets.

System Interoperability at SAS Plugfest |

|
At
the recent Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Plugfest,
PMC-Sierra's
QuadSMX 3G
demonstrated system interoperability with Maxtor's
3.5 inch form factor SAS Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and multiple
industry standard SAS controller implementations. This milestone
is significant in providing a complete, end-to-end compatible
system solution to enable server and storage system OEMs to
capitalize on the advantages of the Serial Attached SCSI standard.

Trade Association (STA). STA is a coalition of storage
industry leaders dedicated to promoting the awareness and
use of SCSI technology and driving its future innovation.
Each
month, the STA will send information you'll need to gain an
understanding of SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) technology, and
use it to realize a competitive edge. Discover strategic industry
insights, in-depth technical articles, and all the latest
news. STA even includes hints and how-tos for deploying storage
solutions with SAS. It's all brought to you by select members

Multi-rate Telecom Backplane Interface and Switching Device
|
| |
|
|
PMC-Sierra's
PM5309
TBS 2488 is a multi-rate telecom backplane
interface and switching device that implements conversion
between data formats in SONET/SDH systems such as:
Multi-Service Provisioning Platforms (MSPP)
Add/Drop Multiplexers (ADM)
Digital Cross Connects (DXC)
Multi-Service Switches (MSS)
The device supports four, 8-bit TelecomBus interfaces
at 77.76MHz, as well as three serial interfaces featuring
PMC-Sierra's RASIO technology. Each interface
independently supports 4x622 MHz Scrambled SONET/SDH
with bit-slicing, 4x777 MHz Serial Telecom Bus, or single
2488.32 MHz Scrambled SONET/SDH backplane interfaces.
The TBS 2488 also supports a 10G high -order - STS-1/AU3
- cross-connect in both the ingress and egress directions.
