1. UPCOMING PMC-SIERRA WEBINAR

Understanding System Reliability
for Serial Links

Wednesday, January 28, 2004
11:00AM PT/2:00PM ET

Andy
Wright

Stuart Robinson

PRESENTED BY
Dr. Andrew S. Wright, Director of Product Research, R&D and Stuart Robinson, Product Marketing and Applications Manager, Enterprise and Storage Division, PMC-Sierra

To register, go to www.pmc-sierra.com/webinars/jan2004.html

WHAT TO EXPECT
In today's serial I/O environment, the increased demand for faster interconnection links, ultra reliable systems and continually shrinking power budgets present design engineers with significant challenges. When combined with testing challenges in such hostile backplane environments, a deeper understanding of high-speed serial link design is required.

This webinar will examine the design and test methodologies for ensuring system reliability and Bit Error Rate (BER) requirements so they can be met with confidence.

WHAT WILL BE DISCUSSED
• The impact of jitter on BER (random, bounded, periodic, data dependant...)
• The pitfalls of BER estimation
• Commonly misunderstood laboratory measurement practices

Join in a live Q&A after the presentation.

NEW WHITE PAPER
Attend this webinar and also receive a complimentary white paper on "Improving Multi-Gigabit Backplane Reliability - Designing to Market Leading System Bit Error Rates".

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Signal Integrity Engineers, Backplane Designers, Serial Designers, Design Engineers, Network Architects, Product Line Managers, Engineering Management and Marketing Managers

HOW TO REGISTER
Access to this webinar requires registration on PMC-Sierra's website.

To register, go to http://www.pmc-sierra.com/webinars/jan2004.html

PRODUCT NEWS HIGHLIGHTS
